Anti-whaling activist released from prison
Radio National Breakfast — Separate stories podcast - A podcast by ABC listen - Tuesdays
The founder of the anti-whaling group Sea Shepherd, Paul Watson, has been released from a Greenland jail after spending five months in detention. Denmark's justice ministry has decided that he will not be extradited to Japan to face charges relating to an incident aboard a whaling vessel in 2010. Despite this, an Interpol red notice for his arrest remains in force — meaning he could still be arrested in another country. Guest: Julie Stage, Danish lawyer who's been acting on behalf of Mr Watson Producer: Flint Duxfield
