Changing Australia: Adrian Turner and the quest to build a more resilient Australia

Radio National Breakfast — Separate stories podcast - A podcast by ABC listen - Tuesdays

In early 2020, Adrian Turner was nearly killed in the Black Summer bushfires.  Days later, Adrian would be speaking with billionaire Andrew Forrest about creating a program to help lift resilience and make the country better able to cope with the next major fire or flood. Adrian spent nearly two decades in Silicon Valley in the US, before he was asked to become the inaugural head of Data61, a specialist arm of Australia's national science agency.   Adrian has now turned his attention to the critical issue of biosecurity, just as more Australian farms are being infected with bird flu.
