The newly launched Oxitec Australia is a collaboration between CSIRO, Australia's national science agency, and UK-based Oxitec Ltd, a developer of biological solutions to pest control that aims to genetically engineer mosquitoes that don't bite, and therefore cant spread diseases such as dengue fever and zika virus.
