US tariffs: Deputy PM responds as Trump orders 90-day pause with a 10pc baseline tariff applying

US President Donald Trump has abruptly paused tariffs on dozens of countries,  after facing the prospect of a global market meltdown. Reciprocal tariffs that came into force at the weekend have been lowered to 10 per cent for 90 days.
