A Radio Series by Kirsty Kross for Tenthaus Kirsty Kross introduces the series walking alone in the forest at night without a flashlight. Whilst on an arts residency at Dale Nordisk Kunstnersenter, a Scandinavian arts paradise, she has had much time for soul searching as an artist. Will she be able to negotiate the next period of her life and still keep making art? The episode features an interview with Kate Pendry who has had a very prolific career writing and producing over 50 pieces for the theatre winning many awards for her work, including the Ibsen Prize in 2009. Kate discusses how she has dealt with the controversy surrounding her work which has even sometimes resulted in death threats. Now back on track after years of mental health problems, Kate also discusses her recovery and how acting remains her passion. Featuring playlists by Kirsty Kross and Kate Pendry as well as an improvised noise set by Stavanger based art and music group, GN00R that was recorded in the forest at Dale i Sunnfjord. Swearing warning. Kirsty Kross fell many times in the dark in the forest, almost lost an eye and did eventually get lost for about ten minutes. Research has proven though that people who swear are generally more honest.
