#71 - Crystal Adesanya: Immigrant from Nigeria to CEO

Rebuilding The Beast - A podcast by Festus Ezeli

Buckle up because we’ve got my Nigerian sister Crystal Ola Adesanya! Crystal is an entrepreneur, on the Forbes 30 under 30, and CEO of Kiira Health. Crystal’s hard work, determination, and confidence have gotten her so far in life, something that she thanks her Nigerian upbringing and 5 older brothers for. And I have full confidence that after listening to this episode, you’ll feel inspired.

Today we cover everything from

·      Meeting her husband and how he’s her biggest inspiration.

·      Having health problems and feeling like there was no one she could talk to, leading her to the idea of her company, Kiira Health.

·      College and different career paths she thought she’d take before deciding to be an entrepreneur.

·      How there is not much diversity in the medical field and the importance of having black doctors.

·      Companies she had before Kiira Health.

·      Winning pitch competitions and her techniques at creating the best pitch.

·      How raising funds as a black woman, and for black people in general can be quite difficult.

·      Growing up in Nigeria and how boarding school taught her hard work and determination.

·      What it was like growing up with 5 older brothers.

·      The mentality of always wanting to be the best.

It was so much fun catching up with my friend. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as me.
