In this episode, I’m with Leah Chowdhry, CEO & Founder of Pop up, Party and Play. At only 28, Leah runs an award-winning business ‘Pop up, Party & Play’ and has raised £175,000 for charities, single handily. Recently, she has become the first British Asian Woman to swim the English Channel. Dedicating most of her life to helping children, she was named the Woman of the Year and Most Inspirational Young Person in 2019. Most recently, she’s been honoured with The British Citizenship Medal joining an exclusive group of 400 people throughout the UK for her contribution to the community. In this episode, Leah shares what it’s like to be a CEO at such a young age and what drives her to take on the challenge. Addressing some of the social and cultural stigmas attached to being a young Asian female running a company. Leah shares some of the conversations she’d had to have and how she’s approached them. Pop up, Play & Party is a revolutionary business that provides childcare in the workplace and naturally, this is a huge weight lifted from working parents. But the true impact is made clear with some of the heart-warming stories that Leah shares from working parents. One of her incredible achievements is swimming the English Channel for Charity, which took 15 hours. We talk about both the motivation to give to charity, which she has had from a very young age, and the mental and physical resilience of taking on such a challenge. Leah’s mindset, a combination of humbling experiences and incredible hard-work – she goes on to share some incredible tips on success, plus insight on what she has planned next!
