47. Unswerving Loyalty: Thomas Cocking

RNLI 200 Voices - A podcast by RNLI

For most of the RNLI’s existence, a member of the Cocking family has been in it – sometimes paying the ultimate sacrifice The RNLI has been at the heart of the Cocking family for over 150 years. In 1939, tragedy stuck the family when former St Ives Coxswain Thomas Cocking’s great-grandfather perished at sea, along with the great-grandfather’s son and son-in-law. Despite this, the family’s commitment to the RNLI continued. In this archive recording, Thomas talks about the strong RNLI family tradition that has saved countless lives. 200 Voices is produced by Adventurous Audio for the RNLI    Interview by Adventurous Audio Soundtrack composed and performed by Jon Nicholls    The RNLI is a charity celebrating 200 years of saving lives at sea - find out more at RNLI.org/200
