085. Training for master athletes, improving as we age | with Eoin Everard, athlete and physio
Running long - A trail & ultra running talk - A podcast by Vert.run - Wednesdays

Masters' running is usually framed as a process of decline and we rarely talk about understanding and optimizing masters runners’ potential in the same way that we do with younger runners. This episode wants to bring a constructive approach to the topic, giving some tips and ideas to better manage our training as we get older. Our guest is Eoin Everard, an Irish athlete, physiotherapist and pilates instructor with a PHD in biomechanics. Eoin has a background as an international runner with sub 4 minute mile and sub 14 minute 5K PRs, and he’s been very successful as a master athlete thanks to his approach to training and his methodology that has allowed him to stay away from injuries and maximize his training benefits.
