Sam.wav - A podcast by a Samford Traditions & Oral History Recording Initiative production

Categories:

This semester, a group of Samford students traveled weekly to Episcopal Place, a senior living facility in downtown Birmingham, as part of a project that aimed not only to collect the residents' stories but also to build relationships between student and interview partner. Join us as we listen to a few of the stories they collected and consider the impact of inter-generational projects on the participants. This episode features Mia Owens, Thelma Jackson, Pat C. Allen, Maggie Shaw, Judy Pittman, David Schneider, Marianne Dreyspring, and Julianne Jorgensen. The music in this episode was written and produced by Samford student Kerry Joiner. This episode was written and produced by Claire Davis. This project could not have been done without the Alabama Humanities Foundation. Special thanks to their help funding the project, as well as to Samford's Mann Center for Ethics in organizing the cadre portion of the project.
