It's been 80 years since the US dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and then Nagasaki during World War Two. The unprecedented destruction triggered the opening salvo of the nuclear arms race. The international community has tried to curtail the expansion of nuclear weapons, but a number of states are believed to be working to either develop them or increase production.
