77. Maximising Your Personal Impact

Our focus this month is on Making Impact : how to make the difference, get your voice heard and create the positive influence required for action. We are honoured to be joined by Steve Lakin  (Head of Fire at Balfour Beatty plc but in this episode he is speaking from his personal perspective) who shares his advice on how to maximise impact when you need people to engage, connect and action your message. Steve has devoted his career to transforming fire safety and ensuring that the right people sit up and listen and are motivated to collaborate and do what it takes to make things better. He shares practical tips for communicating  in a way that means that phones are put down and you are listened to, as well as making impact in informal opportunities by knowing your '60 second message'.  A tonic of an episode for anyone feeling like the world is full of baddies, Steve reminds us that good, solid trusting relationships based on integrity is what makes good change happen.
