I share with you the importance of supporting someone when they need help rather than preach to them.  S U B S C R I B E : https://www.youtube.com/user/RafaelEliassen?sub_confirmation=1 Coaching with Rafael: https://www.erafael.com/ #StoryTelling #SharingAStory #StopPreaching #PracticeWhatYouPreach #GivingAdvice #Support #Supporting #StrugglingInLife #GetHelp #NeedHelp? #IamHereForYou #SelfImprovement #PersonalDevelopment #Motivation #SelfHelp #Motivational #MotivationalSpeech #MotivationalSpeaker What is often preached but rarely practiced? A boy was bathing in a river and got out of his depth, and was in great danger of being drowned. A man who was passing along a road heard his cries for help, and went down to the riverside and began to scold him for being so careless as to get into deep water, but made no attempt to help him. "Oh, sir" cried the boy "please help me first and scold me afterward." The man represents all of us. All of us who are ready to give advice and opinions to people who are struggling. We tend to look down on them to satisfy our ego. We put them down and say “Look how they are struggling” then smack some smug advice in their face. People who are struggling need your help, not your advice. It’s no wonder that depression and anxiety rates are through the roof.  And why wouldn’t they be? Why would people open up? If all they are going to get is judgment. Let’s just try to understand people who are struggling. Even by just trying and listening to them, you might just give them the support they needed.
