Getting The “Yes” & Working Alongside Jennifer Lopez, With Producer & Writer Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas

Share Of Voice - A podcast by Dear Media, Karin Eldor - Thursdays

Before Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas was known as one of today’s most respected producers, she was one of the most successful female agents (if not one of the most successful agents overall), representing celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Julia Roberts, Spike Lee, and Halle Berry.    Elaine rose through the ranks as an agent at the William Morris Agency in the ‘80s, which was known as a boys’ club, and went on to hold top positions in the industry such as partner and co-head of Revolution Studios. Elaine is currently a producing partner with Jennifer Lopez and oversees Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions. She is also a producing partner with Halle Berry and oversees Berry’s 606 Films.    In this episode, we chat about how Elaine started working with Jennifer Lopez as her agent, the record-breaking success of “Hustlers”, which Elaine produced, the art of the pivot in “Second Act” (which Elaine wrote and produced, and Jennifer starred in), and the upcoming “Marry Me.” Elaine inspires as a woman who leans into her truth and voice as a writer, and who always refused to accept “no” as an answer.  Produced by Dear Media
