Supermodel Ashley Graham on Being A Change Maker

Sisterhood Works - A podcast by AllBright

Categories:

Welcome to Season 3 of the Sisterhood Works podcast. Now, if you aren’t one of the millions of people who has watched American model Ashley Graham’s TED talk ‘Plus Size? More Like my Size’, then make sure you watch it. Her words – spoken 6 years ago – are as relevant now as they were then.  Ashley Graham is many things. Yes, she’s a supermodel – my gosh is she a supermodel - but she’s also a powerful role model for all women. According to the fashion industry, she’s also plus size (and just so we’re clear – the outstated and frankly insulting label of plus size refers to any woman who is a size US 8 to 16). She’s a businesswoman. She’s a mother to son Isaac. The new face of inclusive Australian fashion label Commonry, which dresses women from AU size 10 to 22 in fit-driven, fashion-forward clothes.  And has one of the best laughs we’ve ever heard.  Ashley is like a best friend to her 12m plus followers on Instagram. She’s 100% authentic, which is one of the reasons she’s so likeable. At Allbright, we back women who champion change. We back women who aren’t afraid to speak their minds. Through her campaigning for more body positivity, inclusivity, and diversity in the beauty and fashion industry, Ashley has changed the lives of millions of women around the world (her mother predicted she’d do this as you’ll discover in this episode).  In today’s conversation we talk about it all – sisterhood, of course, because that’s at the heart of everything AllBright stands for. We talk about how Gen Z is taking over the world, how to tackle the ‘nos’ in our lives, why the size of our bodies doesn’t dictate our worth, and so much more.    Let’s meet our girl crush.  Follow: @ashleygraham, @commonry @allbrightAshley wears Commonry The V-Neck Flared Cotton Dress, $179.95Sign up for an AllBright Digital Membership today See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
