He saw these small business owners spending thousands of dollars on web advertising campaigns and he knew that there was a better way to improve these companies’ marketing campaigns.  Mark’s passion for helping businesses grow, thrive and make an impact on the world is what drove him to strike out on his own and start Clixable. Mark helps small business owners define who they are and what makes them unique in their space. Once they have defined their place in the world, then Mark helps his clients create strategies and tactics to tell their stories in compelling ways.  How to make content marketing work for any business It is important to understand that content marketing is a long-term brand investment. You should expect a minimum of one year and an average of 3-5 years to see a return on your investment.  The idea of content marketing is to create rich content to help drive traffic to your website. Weekly blog posts can be turned into white papers or you can pull out nuggets of information to use on social media to drive traffic back to your website.  Tips to improve your organic marketing efforts If you are interested in getting the most out of your organic marketing efforts it’s important to be authentic. You shouldn’t look at your posts as a form of advertising; if you do, your audience will see right through you and scroll right past your posts.  Don’t be afraid to be vulnerable. People appreciate that. You don’t have to create the most polished piece of writing or content. Part of creating that authenticity is keeping it real.  Don’t try to sell your product right away. Rather than trying to sell to your audience try to help them instead. By providing potential clients with value you will build their trust so that they will come to you when they are ready to buy. The point of content marketing is to build trust and build your brand by educating and informing your potential clients.  Mark dishes out so much helpful information on content marketing. If this area has been a mystery to you then you won’t want to miss this episode of our marketing series.
