Do you feel sleepy after you eat? Or do you feel energized after eating? Both responses indicate blood sugar instability. Chronically high blood sugar, low blood sugar, or swings between the two cause Hashimoto's flare ups and make the condition difficult to manage. At the same time, if you're in a low thyroid state from undiagnosed or poorly managed Hashimoto's, you're also susceptible to poor blood sugar handling.
