A Tythy Park Special with Outside broadcast requests. This pod features a special orchestrated version of Eleanor Rigby PLUS a special tune for Cath Sheffer (Ne Welsh) from the AntidPODes. Get it ! (Australia & New Zealand to be precise.   More Great music, more chats with Dotun, praise for Steve Wright feparting from afternoons on Radio 2 which will never be the same again, lots of humour and facinating facts and stand by for PART B ..... coming sdoon with its own artwork and the full sas story of Spreadsheet Pete's poor middle toe :-( Plus SPREADSHEET in Ethiopia & his cycling adventure near Lake Tana (Bahir Dar) speaking to Richard Allinson on THE GREAT WALL OF SOUND News Headines from Kenny Everett Classic BBC Radio 1 Jingle (when it was on 247m medium wave (1215 kHz) / 202m in Bournemouth Poole and surrounding areas. 1215 kHz then was the frequency for BBC Radio 3 in 1978, followed by Virgin Radio, now Absolute Radio. Radio 3 is noe FM/VHF and DAB only apart from some parts of Wales where Radio Wales has taken over the Radio 3 FM slot to improve its reception in cars throughout Wales and parts of the MIdlands and North West England. Radio 3 DAB has the best quality bit rate on UK Radio (192 k bits per second) compared to 128 kbits/second for Radios 1, 1Xtra, 4 (except when 5 Live Sports Extra or the Daily Serviceor Yesterday in Parliament is on air when its bit rate drops to 80 kbits per second (MONO). BBC Radio 5 Live only broadcasts in MONO on DAB and always has with either 80 kbps or 64 kbps, depending on whrtheror not 5 Live Sports Extra is on Air and BBC Radio 4 Extra is in MONO also on DAM (80 kbps), Radio 4 Extra is in STEREO and always has been even when it was BBC 7 on Freeview Channel 708 and FreeSat Channel 708. The BBC World Service is also only in MONO on DAB with a nir rate of just 64 kbps but it is in (((STEREO))) overnight on BBC Radio 4 on both FM/VHF 93-95 and on BBC Radio 4 DAB, but not on its own DAB. Why dont Radio 4 give it their extra bits so it can be in stereo on its own main channel. I have never understood this ? All BBC radio stations are available now in (((STEREO))) on BBC SOUNDS but broadcast approximately 32-34 seconds later than FM, LW & MW which is bang and in real e time on FM/VHF, LW & MW. So dont set your watches to BBC Sounds, set them to VHF / FM, LW or MW, but not 5 Live MW which is one second behind FM. Odd this as all other MW stations are LIVE but not 5 LIVE ?? So if you want to hear 5 LIVE LIVE you can only do so after 1am on Radio Wales, Scotland or Ulster / Foyle until 6am Sometimes after midnight of your local / National station hands over to BBC Radio 5 LIVE at Midnight. You can also receive BBC 5 LIVE live in Cyprusd via BFPO in Cyprus on FM and in STEREO, oddly. Classic News Item with Kenny Everett right at the end HAPPY LISTENING FOLKS.
