Episode 37 CULT OF RAY by FRANK BLACK with Slade Baird (of Amigo)

SPINNING OUT PODCAST - A podcast by Josh Robbins - Mondays

Spinning Out (another music podcast) We talk to artists about their favorite albums and go on wild tangents. This week's guest is my long-time friend Slade Baird (of Amigo). We chatted about Frank Black's 1996 album, "Cult of Ray." What makes this album interesting is that it isn't an album most people would reach for when it comes to Frank Black, so that really interested me. The Pixies are always going to be what most people grab for when it comes to Frank Black, but this album made me way more curious about digging into his solo back catalog. Slade plays in the Charlotte rock/americana band Amigo. They last released "And Friends," in 2018. Recently they were featured as a band in an upcoming HBO series, I don't want to give away more that, but I'm super excited for them. https://amigotheband.bandcamp.com/album/and-friends
