May you live your (00:05): Truth. (00:08): Live from Los Angeles. We come together each day to know the truth, live on spiritual principle and align with universal law. We also come together as a community in soul scie, which is all about becoming spiritual leaders, coming to empowerment, enlightenment, and entrepreneurship. We truly believe that when somebody awakens, they have a gift and message to bring to the world. We are on a mission to awaken a billion people globally, and together we are doing this. So today I wanna talk about releasing the concept of perfectionism. You know, waking up is all about beginning to see how everything is created from consciousness beginning to see how everything is a projection and a reflection of your own soul of your own consciousness, knowing that your consciousness is connected with the individual consciousness, the collective consciousness and the cosmic consciousness. So there's this grand symphony going on. (01:04): And then as we do that, we, the next step is really to begin to reprogram, to begin to neutralize the trauma and the mental pictures attached with that. And beginning to take back our power, take back the true identity of the self. And then we begin to, you know, stepping into birthing our truth, our purpose, our passion, all those things. So this is right now the part where we're talking about reprogramming the subconscious mind. And, and part of that is getting into the trauma, getting into those aspects of ourselves that are deeply, deeply embedded in our subconscious, but we also have to consciously take a look at all the things that we need to actively release. And one of them is perfectionism. And my gosh, I know this so well. Jane Fonda said the challenges not to be perfect. It is to be whole Jane Fonda. (01:58): Um, actually I grew up close to Jane Fonda. We lived up in kind of a pseudo hippie commune on the top of Santa Barbara Hills. And it was funny because it was, you know, no one really had money. We had funky old homes and it was this, you know, everyone walked around, the kids would run around barefoot and it was a very hippie ask. And then we lived right next to Jane faunas ranch. And, you know, people like Michael Jackson would roll through and, um, all kinds of big, big names, but it was a different time, a different era. You know, we didn't have computers, we didn't have that connection. I think we had three channels on our TV. It was a very, very different time than today's world. So perfectionism really came from primarily things like the movies and magazines. Whereas now it's just really in our face everywhere through Instagram, through social media, through all these things. (02:47): And, and I think, oh my gosh, I wonder how I would've ever survived if I had had all that. Because as I've told you guys before was bulimic from the time I was 17 to 20 and a lot of what was because I was, you know, I hadn't found myself. I was very insecure and, um, and I just thought that if I was skinny, then everything would work out right. That good old, um, lie to myself. So perfectionism, you know, lights, camera action. I live in the middle of west Hollywood. It's, uh, a lot of glitz and glam women are very produced in this town. A lot of makeup, a lot of perfection. So we've all been mesmerized. Our minds have been flooded with the visual impressions of our entire lives, through, you know, everywhere. We looked the billboards, the phones everywhere, power magnitude, wealth, glitz, glamor, morphed, special effects, filters, photoshopped, you name it. (03:40): We are living in a perfectionism culture. And so in that we have to really ask ourselves, you know, if we are looking at social media, if we are looking at magazines, if we're looking at whatever and we are beginning to feel less and less and less, we gotta turn that shit off. Like, let's get real for a minute. Like if you are becoming a perfectionism and comparing yourself to others, it's time to say loving myself and peace is enough. We gotta know that that has to be the number one priority, because if we truly understand universal law, if we truly understand the power of the mind, which if you're on this podcast, I believe that you understand somewhat that you have a power with them. If you truly get that. And if every day you are really tapping in and measuring how good you're feeling, because that's really, that's really the test, right? (04:35): If you're feeling good, miracles are happening, stuff starts flowing, right? If you don't feel good, things start stopping and your life gets worse. I mean, it's really a backing of the feeling and the flow of life. So you have to ask yourself, you know, are you beginning to turn into a perfectionist? I remember years ago when I was first putting stuff out on social media, I was first building my first courses. And I would stop myself because I would think, well, it's not produced enough. It doesn't look right. Um, I would find all the reasons, all the perfectionist reasons to not move forward. And I'll never forget. Um, like, uh, I was watching show. I, I didn't even remember who it was, but they were talking about how being on camera and how they basically, the first time they got on camera, they sucked. Or the first time they got on stage and spoke, they sucked. (05:27): They're like, no, one's good. The first time they stand up and do it. No, one's good. The first time they do a live stream, nobody's good at any of us, you fail and you fail and you flounder and whatever, and you finally get more comfortable and you finally hone it and then you get produced and then it looks really good. And all the above, you gotta get over the perfectionism. If you stop yourself from giving yourself to life, life can't give itself to you. That's the reflection of life, right? So even if it's not perfect, you gotta give it. You gotta give it. It just exactly as you are, because as you accept yourself, as you are, as you give yourself to the world, exactly, as you are, the world has to meet you exactly where you are. And then you have the possibility of not being stuck. (06:10): You know what resist persists. So giving yourself fully to life, divine individual, and it's time for you to start living in accordance with them. You're divine individual. Exactly. As you are, you are a beautiful, beautiful spirit. So, you know, get rid of those glossy magazines, get rid of scrolling on Instagram. We're obsessed with Victoria secret models, the style of rich and famous and all that. And that's fine, whatever. It's fine. If you can see that and be fine with it, but if it's affecting you and it's having you get stopped and it's having you get down and it's having you not feel good, throw that shit out seriously. I mean, I always say like, if you're on Instagram, you should consciously think about who you're following. If they're not raising you up, if you're not learning from them, if they're not making you feel better, why in the world would you follow them? (07:05): Makes no sense to me, right? So we gotta detox and cleanse and reprogram the subconscious mind of anything that no longer serves. So this is only up to you. So I invite you to take a look at this today. You know, when we're stressed, because we're looking at perfectionism, our body secretes cortisol, and that basically makes our fat storage go up. Like literally the more you try and be skinny through stress about it, the more fat you get that's, what's crazy about it, right? Like we get that. The best thing you can do today to look better and feel better, is to relax, enjoy your life. Exhale. Um, do the things that are non stressful. Perfectionism is a nasty game to play. And so in this, I just realized this perfection of this life. I remember the book, one of the greatest books I ever read is called the war of art by Stephen Presfield. (07:56): And he looks at the different forms of resistance, um, of all the ways that we prevent ourselves from doing things, all the excuses for not doing things. And perfectionism is one of those, you know, how many times have you not given yourself to life, not taken on, you know, the next, um, U-turn in your career, the next client, the next giving of yourself on social media or writing that book or whatever it is that you truly desire to do. What I want you to write down all the reasons why you don't think you're worthy all those reason. And that's what that book is about. The war of art. It's a great little book. It's very small. It's very succinct. I feel like people should read that like twice a year, because it just reminds me, reminds you of all the reasons, all the false identities, all the limiting belief systems, all the resistance we liberate ourself from feeling liberate ourselves and know the perfection. (08:50): You are perfectly imperfect. You're a divine, spiritual being and so on knowing our own character flaws, we're never gonna be toy. Perfect. We're we're, we're human beings. We're spiritual beings having a human experience. And it's so cool, just realizing. And as we go into even our, the imperfection of our mind shadow or the imperfection of so many aspects of her life, accepting it and just observing it and laughing at ourselves and knowing today that inner dialogue is something that we get to give up that pity party that, that drunken Mon monkey inside of us, those aspect of ourselves that are beating us up. I used to have the, the worst, worst enemy in my head, this, this voice that would tell me how ugly I was, how I couldn't do it, all those things. And one day I just said, thank you, but no thank you. (09:38): You're no longer welcome in my mind. And it was done. So, you know, the Buddhist described the human mind as being filled with drunken monkeys, jumping around screeching chattering, and carrying on endlessly. Every single one of us has the mind of a drunken monkey. One that is basically just clamoring for attention. So whether you give it attention or you don't give attention, that's, what's going to prevail. So I invite you to find and look through the lens and argue for the perfection of who you are exactly as you are and remain in building that muscle of self-love letting go of perfectionism. And knowing that today is a day to liberate yourself from perfectionism. So today's universal law is a lot of non-attachment. And this states that the universal law is set into motion. The moment you attach a positive or negative meaning to something that occurs or doesn't occur, whic
