Amelia Clegg on Sport and the British Army

We're talking South African history in this episode with PhD candidate Amelia Clegg of Birkbeck College, University of London. Amelia talks to Geoff about her research into masculinity, sport and the British army during the South African War of 1899-1902. She also discusses what it's like to go back into Higher Education as a mature student and the way in which Birkbeck acts as a resource for those who want to combine continuing to work with life as a postgraduate. And there's room to talk about Amelia's background in South Africa and how her own family's experience of the South African War informs the research that she is doing now.
