South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer on football, family, coaching and faith

Shane Beamer is the head football coach at South Carolina. He just finished his first season with the Gamecocks in 2021 and went 7-6 and won the Duke's Mayo Bowl 38-21 over North Carolina. Beamer is the son of former Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer and played football for his father in the late 1990's as a wide receiver and long snapper. Following in the footsteps of his dad, Beamer was a grad assistant and assistant coach for 20 years with Tennessee, South Carolina Virginia Tech, Georgia and Oklahoma before getting his first head coaching job in December 2020 with South Carolina. Today on the podcast, we talk to Shane Beamer about his coaching style, the experience his first head coaching job, lessons learned from his football coaching father and how his faith keeps him grounded each day.
