From the time of the creation of the first European colony, there has been a lot of death and destruction.  The locals were killed off or enslaved. The Spanish, French, and English fought over the land. Over the years, people have seen spirits of the dead. From Casillo de San Marcos, to the Old Lighthouse, San Augustine has many ghosts.
