#66 - Nienke Brinkman - From The Trails To A 2:26 Marathon

Nienke Brinkman is a Dutch athlete who gained notoriety in the trail scene by storming to wins at Golden Trail World Series races throughout 2021. She then went on to run 2:26 in Valencia marathon in December, attracting attention from Nike Trail and NN Running who will be supporting her going forwards. This performance, which places her third all-time for a Dutch woman, is especially astounding given she started running a mere three years ago, really picking it up after lockdowns started in Switzerland where she is completing a PhD in GeoPhysics. Nienke’s background in field hockey has proven to be a solid foundation for versatile performances.
