A Washington state man is facing murder charges in connection with the murders of 34-year-old Charlene Van Auten and her four year old daughter. Finally, a Sioux Falls woman, who is facing charges after forensic genealogy connected her to the 1981 murder of a newborn baby, is challenging the charges on the basis that police violated her constitutional protections against illegal search and seizure by obtaining her DNA profile from discarded garbage.
