Marc L. Busch, Karl F. Landegger Professor of International Business Diplomacy at the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University joined Gavin to discuss the ongoing trade dispute between the EU and cocoa producing countries across the world. The dispute is primarily centered around new EU regulations on 'cadmium', a heavy metal that can cause damage to a person’s kidney or lungs which is present in chocolate. But such legislation could also impact the entire cocoa supply chain and crucially, disproportionately affect cocoa farmers with no other means of income.
