113. How to Overcome Your Time Management Mistakes

Teaching to the TOP - A podcast by Teaching on the Double - Thursdays

When you have a schedule that has every inch of time filled in a day, you can feel overwhelmed and lost with how to accomplish all of your to-dos.  Obviously none of us are perfect when it comes to time management but it’s important that we are able to recognize our mistakes so that’s what we are going to focus on in this episode! When it comes down to it, a lot of our “time management mistakes” are due to good habits not sticking or bad habits forming.  In Atomic Habits, James Clear outlines 4 ways to make a habit stick… make it obvious, make it attractive, make it easy, and make it satisfying. If the habit is failing, this means we are doing the opposite. So in this episode, we are going to focus on those mistakes but give specific examples for time management and how you can make changes to overcome them. In this episode we share: Make your daily schedule and appointments part of your environment.  Pair a desirable task with a task that is less desirable.  Humans follow the Law of Least Effort. Find ways to make your habit easy.  SUBMIT YOUR TIME SUCKING HURDLE! We want to know what is sucking up all of your time either as a teacher or just a person.
