Technically A Conversation - A podcast by Technically A Conversation

Alfred G Packer left Provo Utah with a group of prospectors to Breckenridge Colorado to try to strike it rich during the Colorado Gold Rush in 1873. Against the advice of others, he decided to travel to Gunnison Colorado in the middle of an unusually harsh winter storm. While he didn’t find gold, he did become infamous for resorting to murder and cannibalism. Today, we’ll discuss who Alfred Packer was, accounts of the incident based on two of Packer’s confessions, and the fate of America’s First Cannibal.
