Welcome to That NICU Mum, a podcast sharing the stories of New Zealand parents who have had a baby in a neonatal unit across the country. This episode of That NICU Mum is supported by the Premmie Knitting Club, a NZ registered charity which has a virtual tribe of knitters providing beautiful knitted clothing to units across the country. A huge thank you to Courtney and the whole PKC team for supporting us and our podcast! You can find them online premmieknittingclub.org and on instagram and facebook @premmieknittingclubnzTodays episode features Ashleigh-Hope, a true super mama who has had two babies and two very different postpartum experiences. Her son and NICU babe, Mason, was born at 36 weeks due to Gestational Diabetes and IUGR, had a life flight to Wellington from Palmy at less than 48 hours old (which turned out to be unnecessary) and battled with blood sugar issues for four months. In comparison, her daughter Lillie-Jean was born at term, had no issues and was allowed to go home straight away!Ashleigh-Hope also had a huge over supply with both pregnancies, allowing her to feed FOUR other babies as well as her own plus donated a whopping SEVEN HUNDRED LITRES!I hope you enjoy listening to Ashleigh's stories!Chat soon,Shan x x Hosted on Acast.
