Our Duty and Mission as the Family of Faith

The American Campfire Revival with Kirk Cameron - A podcast by Kirk Cameron

One of the Founding Fathers of this country, Samuel Adams, once said, "It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." This quote perfectly represents the modern-day mission of the family of faith, who must be committed to God and His hope for the earth. In His perfect timing, God uses people to turn the masses back to Him, but we must take up our mission as loving soldiers in God's army of compassion. If we are passive to this calling, just waiting around on earth until our time in heaven comes, we pose no threat in the battle against evil. We must not forget that the final chapter of the gospel story is "restoration," which tasks the family of faith with blessing and heaven-izing the earth. God has placed man on the earth to govern it, beautify it, and take dominion over it, but the saving power of Jesus calls us to spread the light and bring biblical transformation to our world as we know it.
