Created to produce video about South Africa, by South Africans, essentially for South Africans, VNS materials are distributed in collaboration with Afravision primarily in South Africa, in large part to mass organizations. A powerful analysis of the escalating violence that followed the launch of the Inkatha Freedom Party in the early 1 990's. This documentary reaches beyond the shocking images to identify forces and interests at work, and to present the views of residents and hostel-dwellers. From domestic workers to professionals, a wide range of women share their experience of competing in the racist and male-dominated economy while discussing possible solutions.
