Join us for an in-depth interview with Kellie Lawler. Kellie is inspired by structured design, patterns, and textiles. She has created many acrylic and ink artwork. Combining intrigue with the freedom of a continuous line technique, she creates graphic perspectives of human figures, nature, and other subjects. In creating a subject in one line, without constraints of proportion or perfection, each painting might unfurl differently in both the viewer's and the artist's eyes. Through her artwork, imperfect form meets perfect interpretation. Kellie developed her skills at her high school in Baltimore, MD which provided an extensive elective art program. At Brown University, she played Division I Lacrosse, and her focus shifted to sports and her studies. As can happen, her love for art fell to the wayside. Kellie left providence in 1999 with a BA in psychology and a great guy, a fellow athlete at Brown, who later became her husband. His journey in the medical field has moved their family of six around often, but they have now happily landed in Alabama. As fulfilling as life has been over the years, something was always missing. Curiosity leads Kellie to dust off a decades-old art portfolio and study her old love. At that moment, she knew she was about to start a new chapter of her life.
