The European Union has finalized a deal on the world's first comprehensive artificial intelligence (AI) rules. The EU has taken an early lead in crafting global AI regulations, addressing concerns about risk posed by advanced AI systems. The agreement still requires a vote from the European Parliament early next year, but with the deal in place, the vote is considered a formality.
