Medical Matters: What is our right to health? World Health Day 7 April
The Aubrey Masango Show - A podcast by 702
This evening on Medical Matters we talk about World Health Day which took place yesterday 7th April. And we are joined by Prof Renata Schoeman, Head of the MBA in Healthcare Leadership programme at Stellenbosch Business School. Prof Schoeman says on that the continued focus on health as a human right and on the accessibility of care through universal health insurance disempowers people from taking responsibility for their own health. As much it’s the responsibility of government to “ensure that the public gets access to healthcare, this needs to go along with the promotion of health. This task goes beyond the healthcare system as it is a shared social value, and it involves everyone in shaping and influencing our values – families, schools, the media and the legal system,” so says Prof Schoeman. And she joins us this evening to discuss what our rights are when it comes to World Health Day.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
