Most notably in recent memory, Edmonton’s arena played a key role during COVID-19, acting as one of two hub cities to finish up that season in the midst of the pandemic. “We wanted to be able to keep going and sure enough in the end, Toronto and Edmonton became the two hub cities to finish last season.” Ballantyne explained.
