International photography comes with a set of rules that apply from one culture to the next. You have to respect the culture you are visiting in order to successfully photograph the story. You need to be comfortable with being uncomfortable and that takes a certain type of personality. Nicky Woo is from Brooklyn, is half Black and half Hawaiian, and has spent the last few years telling stories in East and West Africa, Indonesia, and Vietnam. She has photographed stories ranging from bombings in Sri Lanka to water erosion in Senegal to the alternative medical system in Tanzania. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/blkshutter/support
