Ep. 27: In conversation with Lola&Lykke founder Laura McGrath

On the podcast this week is special guest Laura McGrath, mama of two and Founder and CEO of Lola&Lykke, an award-winning health and wellness brand for mums. Laura splits her time between Ireland and Finland and is passionate about supporting and empowering mums to make the right decisions for them and their family. Along with her co-founder and childhood friend Kati Hovikari, Laura was inspired to set-up Lola&Lykke in 2018 after her own difficult start to motherhood. As new mothers they soon realised there weren’t many high-quality products on the market to help new mums adapt to their new life postpartum – and so Lola&Lykke was born. In this episode, we talk about how many new mothers are unprepared for birth and breastfeeding – and the long-term effect this can often have. Laura shares some interesting insights and statistics around breastfeeding rates and the difference in breastfeeding support in Finland Vs the UK and Ireland.
