You’ve done the homework in building out avatars and invested time into researching who your ideal client is, but have you taken the time to validate your ideal client profile? While you’ve done all of the heavy lifting, how do you know the person you’re dreaming of serving actually exists? Today we’re validating that client profile so that you can clearly and confidently build your business around serving that client. Identifying Your Ideal Client Profile If you’re just getting started in building your business or potentially pivoting to another service, it’s crucial that you do the foundational work to identify who your clients are. Once you identify your ideal client profile, you can take the following steps to validate that the ideation you’ve created is real: * Find the people* Talk to them* Review your findings* Validate your findings Is this deceptively simple? Maybe, but this doesn’t need to be complicated. If we strip things back to the basics, you’ll move forward with more clarity. Find the People No matter how niched down you get, there is always someone out there who matches it. Now it’s just a matter of finding them! You can look for them in your own audiences, your communities, local Facebook groups, Clubhouse rooms, and more! The next step may get you out of your comfort zone. Talk to Them Nothing can replace the quality of speaking to real life human beings. If we haven’t spoken to our ideal client to find out who they are and what they need, it’ll always feel like throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping it sticks. Since you’ve already determined who it is that you want to talk to, it’s time to show up and have those converations. Put a call out to the people that fit your ideal client profile and ask them to talk. You can jump on a Zoom call, but most importantly, RECORD it. Review Your Findings Once you’ve had the conversations, now it’s time to review. Take those audio recordings and transcribe it. This allows you to review the content again, but also look for keywords. These keywords will help you identify characteristics of your ideal client, pain points they have, goals and dreams for their business, and so much more. This gives you data that you can use straight from your ideal client. Validate Your Findings Once you’ve had a chance to review the findings, it’s time to compare them to your ideal client profile and the services you’re offering. This validation show that you’re on the right path to serving your clients and building a successful business and brand strategy!
