#1 - Joey Herrick

Brandon McMillan welcomes you to his first podcast and takes two questions from his fans; one about crate training and another fan asks him to help her with her barking dog.  Brandon then sits down with dog food industry leader Joey Herrick, Founder of Lucy Pet Products and the Lucy Pet Foundation, to unwrap all the behind the scenes of the dog food industry. Joey has been in the pet food industry for over 30 years.  He sold Natural Balance in 2013 and started back in it because he couldn't find a dog food that was good enough to feed his dogs.  Brandon and Joey discuss, allergies, grain-free, raw, protein and dog food processing. Joey encourages the consumer to ask their dog food brand what they put in their brand.

 

During his 30 years in the pet food industry, Joey donated millions of pounds of food to animal rescue groups.  He witnessed innumerable animals being saved from death row at shelters, all thanks to the incredibly devoted local volunteers.  In his heart, Joey knew he wanted to give back to help animals. After he sold his prior pet food company in 2013 he used that money to establish and fund The Lucy Pet Foundation.
