Greta Wagner: Raising the Bar

In this episode we have the opportunity to hear from BreakLine alum, Greta Wagner.Time and time again, Greta demonstrates she possesses the grit, determination, and resilience to raise the bar.Born and raised in Northern California, Greta grew up with natural athleticism, and a deep love for competitive sports. A gymnast by training, a chance encounter with nationally renowned high school track coach ultimately led Greta to try her hand at a different sport - pole vaulting.In her new discipline, Greta quickly excelled. “I loved track. I worked so hard because I found my passion, but what it really taught me is that you have to care and like what you are doing in order to win and succeed.”And succeed she did.Soaring gracefully through the air, clearing a horizontal pole at a height of thirteen feet, Greta was crowned the pole vault state champion her senior year, and earned a track & field scholarship to the University of California, Los Angeles. When asked how her background as a Division I athlete translated into early career success, Greta shared the importance of resilience. “In my first job I did sales, making 50 cold calls a day. Some people yelled at me, some people hung up on me, and there were times when I didn’t want to pick the phone back up. Ultimately, it was up to me to keep going and have the motivation that maybe the next person would say yes.” Upon completion of her first quarter on the job, Greta had exceeded her sales quota by 600%.After several successful years, Greta’s desire for a deeper sense of fulfillment brought her to BreakLine Education. During her programming she was introduced to Drata and found her tribe in advocates like Timothy Jackson, Ashley Hyman, and fellow BreakLine alum, Ari Mojiri. Greta recently joined Drata as a Customer Success Manager where she will apply her grit, determination, and resilience to once again raise the bar.If you like what you've heard please like, subscribe, or rate The BreakLine Arena on your preferred streaming platform!
