Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Mike: Hi, Dr Cabral can mold toxicity cause Pre-diabetes or type two diabetes? Lorena: Is it true that salt increases cellulite due to water retention? I’m referring to good quality salt such as himalayan and Celtic salt but people tend to say that I go a little overboard with it in my meals haha! I’ve been noticing some cellulite indeed and I eat very clean mostly plant-based foods and exercise daily. I also do daily Ayurvedic self massages and have done a few of your functional medicine detoxes. Any advice? Maria: Hello! Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and new year :)I would like to ask for your opinion on ‘Getiana Lutea root’ and ‘Zingiber Officinale root’ as a digestive support supplement. This was recommended by my naturopath but have never heard you speak of these before. I was told one must be careful with taking digestive enzymes with Sibo and that these would be safe to use. Thank you so very much. Maria Maria: Hi again, I also have a one other questions. I purchased an organic toothpaste and realised it contains ‘organic ethanol’. Would this be okay in toothpaste? It is the second ingredient after Aloe Vera so I am assuming there is a decent quantity of it inside. Appreciate your help!! Adonis: Hi Dr. Cabral, what binders can someone take for Chaetomium? It was really high on my Mycotox test. It was 108 when it should be less then 10. I really can’t find information on this type of mold and how to get it out of my system. Dan: Dear Dr Cabral, long term listener and big fan reporting in. My girlfriend is having issues losing weight. She was diagnosed with PCOS and insulin resistance and has recently been having panic attacks and depression. She also has persistently high CRP, around 10. She turned pescatarian a few years back and has started to exercise more but she is still finding it difficult to lose weight. I suspect she has raised cortisol levels and a hormonal imbalance which are likely contributing to her inflammation and poor metabolism. Her thyroid levels were normal, around 1.5 TSH. Have you any advice where to start, do you think your fatlossity plan will work with these root conditions or do you think there needs to be some preparatory work to see the maximum results? From your number 1 fan Dan. Lauren: Can you do a review on Baruka nuts? I’m also interested in your thoughts on their trail mix which has a mix of the fruit and nuts.
