*Content warnings: This episode contains a mention of domestic violence* This week Michelle speaks with Nova Barton founder of Nova Coaching, she is originally from West London, but now resides in a small mining village in the Rhondda Valleys and this has been her home with her son for the past 4 years. Nova has worked for over twenty years in the substance misuse and criminal justice fields. It was whilst working in a community recovery service in Berkshire that she discovered Laughter Yoga, and subsequently trained as a Laughter Yoga Leader. Using this as one of many activities to support service users to obtain and maintain recovery from drug and alcohol dependence. Since the onset of the pandemic and following being made redundant Nova has been leading Laughter Yoga classes online via Zoom, with several classes a week. Nova also offers coaching services with a specialism in addictions and dependency behaviours, this is a wrap-around service offering support to the whole family, in order to gain the best results for all. She is also an animal lover and owns a dog and 5 cats.
