Creating family faith traditions with Danielle Hitchen

The Christian Parenting Podcast - Motherhood, Teaching kids about Jesus, Intentional parenting, Raising Christian kids - A podcast by Steph Thurling - Tuesdays

Most of us probably don’t think about church history in our everyday lives, but there is a lot that we can learn about our faith from studying church history and it doesn’t need to be boring! Our guest today, Danielle Hitchen, wrote a book called Sacred Seasons that is part theology, part church history, and part practical spirituality. In it Danielle provides an easy-to-use guide to observing the liturgical year complete with fun activities, delicious recipes, and meaningful liturgies.Today we talk about the church calendar and the history behind many of the holidays that we celebrate as Christians today. Danielle touches on how the church calendar can help us create really fun and memorable faith traditions with our kids, she shares some practical things you can do with your kids to incorporate faith in everyday life, and she shares how church history can help inform our decision about if and how we celebrate Halloween. Her explanation of things like the church calendar, saints, and the origins of holidays was really interesting to me and I think you will find it interesting as well! Connect With Danielle:Social Media:@catechesisbooksWebsite:https://www.catechesisbooks.com/ https://www.catechesisbooks.com/sacredseasonsLinks mentioned:https://www.catechesisbooks.com/products/board-booksPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
