Heather Malenshek (Land O' Lakes) | Creating an Enterprise Purpose

Heather Malenshek is the SVP and Chief Marketing Officer of Land O’Lakes. She is also a returning guest to the podcast; Heather joined us 3 years ago when she was the CMO at Harley Davidson. (You can listen here.) Land O’Lakes is a 100 year old farmer and retailer-owned cooperative. Its business goes way beyond the famous consumer dairy brand – with business units in animal feed, sustainable farming practices, and agricultural retail.   Heather was born and educated in Scotland, before beginning an international career on both the ad agency and client sides. She has worked at Land O’Lakes for about 2.5 years, overseeing all branding, corporate communications, digital platforms, consumer promotions, and much more. Before this role, she worked at the highly awarded agencies DDB and BBDO, as well as British Airways, Quantas, and of course, Harley Davidson.  In this episode Heather and Jim discuss the creation of Land O'Lakes's enterprise purpose, her favorite boss – Beth Ford – and the importance of reverse mentorship.
