The Spirit of Market Anarchy: A Critique of New Atheism's Secular Statism (Part 5) "Trading out Theism for Statism" In Part 5, we take a look at the legacy of the 20th Century's "Progress" towards erecting all-powerful states in the pattern of the medieval Church's social architecture. The 20th Century will likely go down in history (if the 21st Century finally sees the end of that era, and not its continuation) as the century of Socialism. And we will reflect upon the popular spread of the destructionist mindset and wonder how secular societies could have managed to outstrip the barbarities of the medieval world in the socialist wars throughout the globe to erect something worse--the divinely-appointed State. In this section, we will discuss the intellectual trends that assisted the development of the Secular Welfare State, or, the Secular Church, through the spread of socialism and the drive for international secular humanism. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/culture-anarchy/support
