Creating a Self Care Routine - The Doctor and The Shaman

Self-care goes so much deeper than the basics of eating, sleeping, and exercising. True self-care is how we build a relationship with ourselves and develop self-worth.

Self-care is the greatest expression of self-love and can be expressed in so many beautiful ways.

In this show of The Doctor and The Shaman, we discuss some great ways to start a healthy self-care routine where we can honor our body, mind, and spirit.

The shaman discusses internal dialogue and how the way we speak to ourselves can be the foundation of a healthy self-care routine. Are you allowing yourself the room to be human? Are you taking care of your needs first so that you can help others without becoming depleted? These are all things that are important to explore while developing a healthy self-care routine.

The Doctor discusses how to break free of the toxic wheel of negativity. He touches on medical training and how they are trained to find the negative or abnormality and how he was able to break out of the point of view as he healed. If thoughts become things we must be careful how we are thinking about and judging ourselves.

What if you looked into the mirror and saw what all of the people who love you see? What if you looked at yourself the way that you look at those you admire the most?

The Shaman talks about how easy it is to put yourself last as a healer and how she has been working on recognizing when she needs time for self-care.

We are in a society based on productivity and we have learned to only honor ourselves when are productive and not when we are only able to be or take time for ourselves. The Journey of self-love and care is about honoring ourselves always.

The Doctor shares about grounding into nature and how you can reset your system from just unplugging for a while and even scheduling time to do so can be helpful to our overall wellbeing. The Shaman talks about how important it is to listen to what the body, mind, and soul are saying.
