778. Frenemies

An interesting study out of Boston Medical Center is showing how 50% of cancer patients were obese and 30% were already diabetics. The study shows how cancer cells and fat cells don’t like each other, or as Dr. Martin says, they’re ‘frenemies’.  Frenemies are people who are friends but they really can’t stand each other. In this study, it was shown how the cells communicate, and how fat cells took over fat cells helping them to spread like wildfire.
