In this episode, Mark and Rowan are busting myths around meal times and frequency. There is a common misconception that dogs need to regularly eat 2 -3 meals a day, to regulate blood sugar levels. Rowan discusses how he varies how many meals he feeds his dog, Kismet, dependent on activity levels for the day. The guys also discuss how feeding fewer times a day can positively impact your dog's health. Allowing your dog to enter a fasted state will allow its body to 'clean itself up' by encouraging mitochondrial scavenging which upregulates the dog's metabolism. This process is associated with longevity, helping to give your dog the longer life If your dog is 'off' its food, be sure to seek reassurance from your vet to rule out any nasty illnesses.
