Rowan sits down with microbial ecologist Dr. Holly Ganz, founder of AnimalBiome to talk about your dog’s gut microbiome, how lack of diversity and imbalances in the gut microbiome can lead to health conditions. Holly’s goal is to take what she learned from studying the microbiome to improve animal health, especially in the gut and oral environment of dogs and cats. AnimalBiome provides capsulated fecal transplants which Holly refers to as “gut restoration supplements”. These contain a healthy mix of the core microbiome. This is the current focus of AnimalBiome in addressing microbial issues due to the extensive peer-reviewed research done on fecal transplants.
