The defense argues that the grand jury indictment should be dismissed due to prosecutorial bad faith and that there were structural errors in the grand jury indictment. The judge asked pointed questions to the prosecution about their conduct. The prosecution had leaked the date of the indictment to the New York Times, cut off witnesses during their testimony, and didn't reach out to other possible witnesses' attorneys to let them know they might be needed for that hearing. The judge stated that they would make a written ruling this week and with the amount of questions the judge had, it is possible that the dismissal could get granted. Kouri Richins’ defense attorneys filed a motion to disqualify the prosecution and to designate the "Walk The Dog" letter as attorney-client privilege. Subsequently, the firm withdrew from her case. This will delay Richins's preliminary hearing that is currently set for June. This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Spotify Ad Analytics - https://www.spotify.com/us/legal/ad-analytics-privacy-policy/Podscribe - https://podscribe.com/privacyChartable - https://chartable.com/privacy
